It's 5:30am. Went to bed at midnight. Woke up at 1am. Slept for a few hours then woke up again at 4am with a dry throat. Got water, went to the bathroom twice and still not sleeping. Argh!!! I'm sooo tired.
Fall is upon us! For the past few mornings it's been a little chilly and I find myself longing for a nice large cup of pumpkin coffee. I also can't leave the house without my new scarf! It's served me really well the past few days as well as on my trip to LA. It's really soft and has an amazing print. I've been getting compliments on it left and right, and can't wait to get another one for myself and perhaps more for gifts. The size is also nice as it is big enough to wrap around my shoulders as well as wear around my neck. It also has a fringed border which makes it stylish and casual. I even used it to keep my little one warm when pushing his stroller.
Here's a picture of the scarf on the site. And below is a picture of me in Santa Monica with my little one enjoying a nice dinner outdoors!
Lucky for my readers I am working with Nimli on a giveaway, so enter to win one of these beautiful scarves for yourself below! The contest runs until midnight 9/30/13.

So hubby decides to buy me a 30 class Groupon w/o asking me. Not yoga, pilates or Zumba (3 classes I enjoy) but crossfit. Umm what? According to Wikipedia, "CrossFit advocates a mix of aerobic exercise, gymnastics (body weight exercises), and Olympic weight lifting." I don't think he understands my physical capabilities and lack of motivation as well as desire to be in this class. Today was the first day and it wasn't that bad until the end. The WOD as they like to call it was torture. 200m run, 15 squats/15 pushups/15 pullups, 12/12/12, 9/9/9, then another 200m run. By the end my arms and legs were jello and I could barely hold my 24lb son steadily nor drive with full confidence! I can see why people enjoy it, perhaps I would've pre - baby but all I could think of on the way home was how much I really wanted a McFlurry and how sore I'll be tomorrow morning, and how I can get out of attending tomorrow's class!! I do see how it can act as a catalyst for complete lifestyle change. Most people who do crossfit enjoy running (no), juicing (ehh), eating clean/paleo (I'm ok with this but not 24-7), and taking selfies (I don't do this often). I do see the benefits of following a vegan diet however. Just read about Robin Quivers story of how she beat cancer on a strict vegan diet. Nice! But... I would probably have a hard time sticking to it. Not a huge fan of meat but I do crave steak, burgers and fish quite often!
